Special Machines

Specifically designed for industrial automation and **high-stock-removal reconditioning processes**, this belt grinding head represents the ideal module for installation on semi-automatic systems, robotic plants, special machines, or industrial lathe carriages. The machine is supplied as an independent working unit, leaving the design and setup of the positioning guides and feed axes to the customer or system integrator. It is a tool structured exclusively for **semi-automatic use** and is not suitable for manual operation. Thanks to its extraordinary structural rigidity, this head finds its ideal application in heavy-duty in-situ or in-line operations, such as: -grinding and reconditioning of large rollers and riding rings (such as the large riding rings of rotary **kilns**, calenders, and industrial mills). -cylindrical grinding and roughing on large parallel lathes for finishing shafts, paper mill cylinders, or hydraulic pistons. The abrasion process takes place directly on the main contact wheel. This configuration ensures a high material removal capacity and strict geometric tolerance control, ideal for eliminating ovalization, localized wear, and surface cracks. The three-roller architecture (contact wheel, drive roller, and tensioner roller) optimizes belt kinematics and maintains a constant, high tension. The compact design minimizes overhang, eliminating structural deflections under heavy workloads. Driven by a **4 kW fixed-speed motor** (3000 rpm) to maintain high torque even during the deepest and most heavy-duty stock removals. The 100 mm width ensures a wide contact surface to quickly cover large work areas, while the 1500 mm length guarantees high compactness and effective heat dissipation, preserving the thermal integrity of the machined part and significantly extending the service life of the abrasive belt. Pneumatic cylinder belt tensioning is available as an option to compensate for belt stretch during machining.
