Special Machines
Developed to meet the most demanding requirements of heavy industry and large-scale metalworking, this belt grinding head represents the top of the range in terms of power and stock-removal capacity. It is designed exclusively as an independent module to be integrated into robotic systems, special-purpose machines, semi-automatic plants, or directly onto the carriage of large parallel lathes. The low and elongated machine structure has been specifically studied to allow access, positioning, and machining within areas with restricted vertical headroom, where many machines could not operate. The design of the final positioning guides and drive axes remains the responsibility of the customer or system integrator; the machine is not suitable for manual operation. The heavy-duty 9.2 kW fixed-speed industrial motor (3000 rpm) delivers extraordinary and constant torque. This power reserve prevents any drop in the contact wheel's RPM even under extreme working pressure, making the head ideal for deep roughing, removing surface cracks, structural welds, and heavily oxidized layers. The 150 mm width allows large surface areas to be covered in a short time, maximizing hourly productivity. The extended longitudinal length of 2500 mm provides an exceptional radiant surface that dissipates heat optimally. This preserves the thermal integrity of the machined part (preventing burns or warping) and significantly extends the service life of the abrasive belt. The three-roller architecture (contact wheel, drive roller, and tensioner roller) is arranged on a predominantly horizontal axis. This monobloc configuration eliminates structural deflections and micro-vibrations under heavy loads, ensuring strict geometric accuracy and perfect tolerance control during cylindrical or flat grinding. The machine can be equipped with a pneumatic cylinder tensioning system. This option manages the constant compensation of belt stretch in real time caused by the thermal and mechanical stress of machining, maintaining consistent cutting conditions and preventing belt slippage.
