The swing frame grinder is a high-performance grinding unit designed to be manually guided by the operator after being suspended from a suitable lifting system (crane, gantry crane, or balanced manipulator). It is the specific solution for heavy-duty deburring, cleaning, and grinding operations on ingots, large foundry castings, and forged components within forge shops. The pendulum design allows the head to be guided with extreme smoothness across the workpiece surface. The machine is engineered to utilize high-speed snagging and grinding wheels with diameters of ø350 mm or ø400 mm, capable of ensuring extremely high material removal rates. The core of the system features a brake electric motor, available in power ratings of 7.5 kW or 9.2 kW, designed to withstand continuous work cycles and severe mechanical stress without torque drops. Given the high-energy nature of these applications, safety is paramount: the grinding wheel is fully enclosed within a heavy, high-thickness steel sheet protective guard, engineered to safely contain potential tool breakage. The system is completed by an adjustable spark shield that diverts the flow of sparks and debris away from the operator. To maximize productivity and drastically reduce operator physical fatigue, the machine can be equipped with an optional pneumatic head-unbalancing cylinder; this device increases the wheel's contact pressure on the workpiece by utilizing pneumatic force. The unit is operated via an ergonomic handlebar fitted with a dual momentary (dead-man) button safety configuration, which instantly cuts power upon release.
