Combined machines for polishing and belt grinding
A machine designed to offer maximum operational versatility in mechanical workshops, fabrication shops, and finishing departments, the SC-PLS is a high-performance combination unit engineered for industrial work cycles. This configuration allows a single operator to perform the entire component finishing cycle on a single workstation, seamlessly transitioning from heavy grinding or satin-finishing on the belt side, to buffing, brushing, or polishing on the spindle side. The machine is built around a robust, ballasted monobloc base, a crucial structural solution to absorb resonance, eliminate vibrations, and guarantee exceptional geometric stability even under heavy thrust or when utilizing large-diameter brushes. Polishing side: equipped with a **ø25x110 mm spindle**, suitable for mounting cotton, sisal, wire, or flap brushes up to a maximum diameter of **ø300 mm**. Safety is guaranteed by two guard options: a self-supporting floor-standing guard or a compact protective hood anchored to the machine body. Belt grinding side: belt tracking unit designed for abrasive belts with a standard length of **2500 or 3000 mm** and a width up to 100 mm, a length that maximizes natural cooling of the abrasive. It accommodates **ø250 mm contact wheels** and is equipped with a protective guard. The heart of the machine is a non-ventilated motor with a cast iron housing, configurable with power up to **3 kW**, in three speed variants: -fixed speed: **3000 rpm**, equipped with an electronic brake. -dual speed: **1500 / 3000 rpm**, also assisted by an electronic brake. -variable speed (**600 - 3000 rpm**): managed via inverter, to finely adjust the cutting speed of both the belt and the brush according to the treated material and size. The belt side features a proven mechanical rack-and-pinion tensioning system as standard, with the option of a pneumatic cylinder for constant and automatic compensation of belt stretch under load. The machine is equipped with an emergency stop foot pedal at the base, allowing the operator to instantly stop the movement via foot pressure, keeping hands free on the workpiece.
