Belt Grinding Machines

Specifically designed for orthopedic laboratories and orthotics and prosthetics production centers, this **socket router** represents a high-performance solution that aligns with the highest industrial standards of the sector. Ideal for roughing, milling, shaping, and finishing **prosthetic sockets, insoles, and orthoses** made of plastics, resins, composites (carbon fiber), and foams, the machine combines cutting-edge ergonomics with unparalleled tool configuration flexibility. The motor is structurally installed with the **shaft tilted** downwards. This specific geometric architecture, derived directly from the requirements of the most demanding orthopedic technicians, drastically reduces arm and shoulder fatigue during manual shaping of the inner and outer walls of the sockets, while ensuring total visibility of the cutting area. The machine is equipped with an extended shaft specifically designed for the quick mounting of rubber expansion wheels for **abrasive sleeves**. Furthermore, the shaft head integrates an M16 threaded spindle, allowing the immediate use of a wide range of interchangeable tools, such as radius cutters, grinding cones, wire brushes, and shaped cutters. To ensure maximum operator protection without limiting operational flexibility, the machine features a **telescopic shaft guard**. The system allows for millimeter adjustment of the protective cover extension according to the length of the tool currently mounted, leaving only the active abrasive portion exposed. The powerful **2.2 kW motor** is equipped with an integrated disc brake for the immediate stopping of the tool. It can be configured in three variants to perfectly adapt to the cutting kinematics of different orthopedic materials: -Fixed speed: **1500 rpm**. -Dual speed: **1500 / 3000 rpm**, to quickly switch from roughing to finishing. -Variable speed: range **from 300 to 2400 rpm** via inverter, an essential configuration to prevent overheating and melting of thermoplastic materials or for processing low-density foams. The motor operation is controlled by a **sustained-action foot pedal** (momentary or "dead-man" switch). The motor runs only while the technician maintains foot pressure and stops instantly upon release. This system guarantees absolute safety, allowing the operator to focus entirely on manipulating the workpiece with both hands. Positioned close to the cutting area, the extraction hood is fully adjustable to intercept the large volumes of chips, fine resin dust, and microfibers generated during milling directly at the source, channeling them toward the filtration system and maintaining a healthy working environment.
