Belt Grinding Machines
Developed to redefine the standards of robustness and productivity in the most demanding industrial environments, the Centauro-S is a manual belt grinder designed to withstand intensive work cycles. The completely independent dual-motor architecture electrically and mechanically isolates the two workstations. This configuration strictly complies with the most stringent occupational safety regulations, eliminating the risks of mutual interference and allowing two operators to work simultaneously in total autonomy and safety. The Centauro-S is the ideal machine for use in **foundries, tap factories**, or for general grinding operations, even on large components that require extensive working space around the contact wheel. Thanks to its exceptional versatility, it proves perfect both for the heavy removal of casting flashes and spues, and for the most accurate surface finishing and satin-finishing on design components, simply by changing the type of contact wheel used. Available with two independent **4 kW or 5.5 kW** motors. Unlike direct drive, the belt transmission system isolates the motor shaft from mechanical shocks and heavy kickbacks typical of heavy roughing. The spindles are highly oversized to guarantee maximum structural rigidity, eliminate deflections, and ensure an unparalleled service life even under extreme thrust loads. The machine offers variable speed via inverter from **600 to 2200 rpm**, allowing precise calibration of the cutting speed according to the material (brass, bronze, cast iron, steel, aluminum). The machine integrates braking resistors as standard: this solution instantly dissipates residual energy upon power-off, guaranteeing an almost instantaneous belt stop for maximum safety. The belt tracking arms are structured to accommodate extra-large abrasive belts with a **3500 mm** length. This exceptional length ensures an amplified radiant surface that optimizes natural cooling of the abrasive, extends its service life, and prevents overheating of the workpiece. Designed for use with **ø300 mm or ø350** mm wheels, available in a wide range of hardnesses and materials (smooth or serrated rubber, soft/foam materials for finishing). Standard configuration equipped with a high-resistance mechanical rack-and-pinion system, or optional with a pneumatic cylinder for constant and automatic compensation of belt stretch under stress. Perfectly in line with the legal requirements for workstation independence, each side is equipped with its own emergency stop foot pedal. The operator can instantly stop their own belt by simple foot pressure, without ever taking their hands off the component being machined.
