Centauro-L

Belt Grinding Machines

Developed to offer maximum geometric versatility and uncompromising safety standards in the most demanding industrial environments, the Centauro-S evolves into the Centauro-L model. This manual belt grinder is designed for continuous and intensive work cycles, adopting a completely independent dual-motor architecture that electrically and mechanically isolates the two workstations. This configuration strictly complies with the most stringent occupational safety regulations, eliminating the risks of mutual interference and allowing two operators to work simultaneously in total autonomy. The defining feature of the Centauro-L lies in its belt tracking units and the special engineering of its guards. It is the ideal machine for **foundries, tap factories**, and for machining complex or large components that require different forms of abrasion and a wide range of movement around the belt. Unlike standard systems, the belt tracking units of the Centauro-L integrate an additional roller that modifies the machine's kinematics. This configuration allows the operator to choose the ideal machining mode based on the geometry of the workpiece: classic rigid and aggressive grinding on the **contact wheel** (casting flashes, spues, deburring) or flexible machining on the **slack of the belt** (curved surfaces, complex radiuses, wide-range finishing, and satin-finishing). The protective guards are structured with a floor-standing base. This enveloping design guarantees complete shielding for the operator along the entire belt length, while leaving an exceptional amount of free working space around the wheel and the cutting zone. Each guard integrates dual suction ports, strategically positioned to capture heavy dust both at the lower contact point and along the belt's running path. Available with two independent **4 kW or 5.5 kW** motors with belt transmission, a solution that absorbs mechanical shocks and protects the motor shaft. The spindles are highly oversized to eliminate structural deflections and guarantee an unparalleled service life under extreme thrust loads. Variable speed via inverter **from 600 to 2200 rpm** to calibrate the cutting speed for any material (brass, bronze, cast iron, steel, aluminum). The machine integrates industrial braking resistors as standard to instantly dissipate residual energy upon power-off, ensuring an almost instantaneous stop of the abrasive belt. Designed for extra-large abrasive belts with a **3500 mm** length (width up to 100 mm) to maximize heat dissipation. It is compatible with **ΓΈ300 mm wheels** in various hardnesses and materials (smooth or serrated rubber, soft/foam materials for finishing). Equipped as standard with a high-resistance mechanical rack-and-pinion system, or optional with a pneumatic cylinder for constant compensation of belt stretch. Each side is equipped with its own emergency stop foot pedal to allow instant belt lock via foot pressure, keeping hands free on the workpiece.
