Belt Grinding Machines
The Astro series represents a range of grinders designed specifically for slack-belt operations. This architecture is the ideal solution for grinding, shaping, blending, and finishing curved, contoured, or complex geometries. Thanks to the retractable backing platen behind the belt, the operator can switch instantly from rigid surface processing (with the platen engaged) to flexible/slack belt processing (with the platen retracted), which perfectly adapts to the contours of the workpiece without creating facets. The series is divided into three size and power configurations, optimized to cover everything from medium-light applications to the most demanding industrial cycles: **ASTRO 1**: Equipped with a **0.75 kW** motor and a **1500x40 mm** belt length. Extremely compact. **ASTRO 2**: Equipped with a **1.5 kW** motor and a **2000x50 mm** belt length. The perfect balance between power and versatility. **ASTRO 3**: Equipped with a **2.2 kW** motor and a **3000x50 mm** belt length. Top-of-the-range version for high productivity, maximum belt life, and great thermal dissipation. Each of the three models can be configured in two motorized variants to adapt to the specific cutting kinematics required: -Fixed speed (**3000 rpm**): equipped with a robust electromagnetic disc brake to guarantee an immediate and safe mechanical stop when the circuit is opened. -Variable speed (**600 - 3600 rpm**): managed via inverter, essential for varying the RPM based on the material (e.g., steels, light alloys, or plastics) and the type of abrasive, with deceleration ramps managed by the electronics. The machine includes a solid,** adjustable workpiece support table**, which allows the component to be safely brought close to the belt, reducing operator fatigue and improving accuracy. Operational safety at the highest level thanks to the electrical panel with low-voltage controls (24V) and the standard horizontal emergency stop foot pedal, allowing immediate interruption of the cycle when hands are busy.
